In the new novel, Ternopil writer Nina Fialko covers the beginning of a hybrid war in eastern Ukraine, in which her best sons died. The protagonist of the work Mykhailo Honcharuk is a participant of the Maidan, the Revolution of Dignity, and later a fighter of the volunteer battalion, which miraculously came out of the Ilovaysk "cauldron". The crippled man is going through a difficult period of psychological rehabilitation, when officials do not recognize him as a participant in the anti-terrorist operation and demand certificates from those who are already in education. On the Maidan, Mykhailo accidentally meets a "double", and fate brings them together in the most difficult moment, when the lives of both are hanging by a thread. Sharing knowledge about the peculiarities of such people, Sasha proves that they are entrusted with one and the same mission, and who of them will survive, he must fulfill it. Michael, shocked by what he heard, after returning home tries to dig into the past of his family to unravel the emergence of a "double" in his life, to understand his purpose on Earth.
