The collection includes originals and stylized translations of selected English children's poems of the classical genre, known as "nursery rhymes" or nursery rhymes. To better convey the slightly archaic, folk sound of the originals, the translator sometimes uses accents and grammatical phrases typical of the spoken language of Galicia, as well as selects Ukrainian equivalents for names, places of names, dishes, professions. Some poems, also known as songs, are accompanied by notes of melodies at the end of the book.
