A righteous man of faith - this is how Metropolitan Sheptytsky is known all over the world, because during the Second World War he saved hundreds of Jewish families from imminent death by his own efforts. And for the Ukrainian church, Metropolitan Andrei is one of the greatest figures. His actions have always been guided by love and truth, and perhaps that is why Andrei Sheptytsky has gained universal respect. At the age of 36, he headed the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church and was its leader for the rest of his life. Metropolitan Andrew was the first of the hierarchs to use the vernacular in communication with the faithful, and he was the first to lead the service in Ukrainian. And we can say unequivocally: Andrei Sheptytsky was a man of great will, a patriot of his country, who commanded his descendants: "Do not love Ukraine with a stream of noisy and noisy phrases, but with quiet and tireless work ...".
