The book is devoted to the Avars on the European continent, their emergence, establishment and active participation in the formation of a new Europe. The question of the origin of the Avars is debatable. It is known only that, fleeing from the Turks, they came to the territory of Central and Eastern Europe, conquered the local population, mostly Slavs, and created their own large state - the Avar Khaganate. This book will discuss the relations of nomads with the peoples of Eastern and Western Europe and with the Byzantine Empire.
