Igor Rodin is a military historian and publicist from Kiev. He studied the period of the First World War and the Civil War, was interested in Russian military leaders, the ideas of the White Movement. But in 2014, at the age of 53, he went to defend Ukraine from the "Russian world".

He went to the front as a volunteer in the battalion "Donbas". On his way out of Ilovaisk, he was taken prisoner by the Russian military. Igor was released as a result of an exchange of prisoners.

Before the war in Donbass, Igor Rodin wrote two books and forty-eight articles on Russian military history. Now he is writing the history of his country. The first result was this book.
