XVII century. The end of Khmelnytsky region. Ukraine has gone through perhaps the most difficult times: a long struggle for influence over the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth and the Moscow Empire, discord, fierce disputes among the Cossack leadership of the Zaporozhian Army. Ukraine actually split into two parts - the Right Bank and the Left Bank. The final split of the country was consolidated by the Black Council, which took place in June 1663 in Nizhyn and marked the beginning of the decline of the Hetmanate, a state created by Bohdan Khmelnytsky.
