Girl in the Carpathians

The author of the work is a young emancipated Scotswoman who goes on her own to meet the inhabitants of a distant land - Galicia. In the summer of 1890 she made a horse crossing through the Hutsul region and Pokuttya, passed through Montenegro, visited Kolomyia, Delyatyn, Kosovo, Kosmach, Zhabie, passed through Lviv. The traveler describes incredibly sincerely the impressions of what she saw, draws philosophical conclusions, encourages us to think about what we gain and what we lose with the development of civilization.
