"Very modest gifts" is a novel about modernity, electronic correspondence of brothers who found themselves on different sides of the Atlantic. Both heroes are already young men, very different psychologically and socially. They share their views on the world, describe their daily lives, snatch memories of their childhood together and mourn the fate of their relatives. Uglesa Shaitinac is developing two private stories that unfold in Serbia and America, and through them the lives of people close to them, the whole family for several generations, are enlightened. The work is interspersed with literary and musical quotations, one of which gave it its name.
