The second volume of the epistolary contains 300 letters from Taras Shevchenko and to him from 1857 to 1861: from the first letters written and received after his release, to the last, which were addressed to the poet after his death. The letters provide an opportunity to understand the difficult path of Shevchenko's return to creative life, reveal the breadth of preferences and interests of the artist. In the epistolary of these years, the poet expresses the hope to settle in his native land, reflects on personal life.
Letters from Taras Shevchenko and his correspondents touch with the depth and immediacy of self-expression. Many live episodes are unfolded in the letters, eloquent nuances are recorded - everyday and mood. This is a true epistolary portrait of the writer and artist, which is an invaluable document of the day.
The first book of Taras Shevchenko's Epistolary was also published in the Library of Ukrainian Literature series.
