The book presents George Soros' concepts for building an open society and a number of programs initiated and implemented by relevant foundations. Soros and his team tried to understand the problems of different societies that needed help: tuberculosis, mentally handicapped people, drugs, poverty, interethnic non-recognition of certain communities (Roma), the contradictions of joining the world structures of third world countries and more. The author of the book, Chuck Sudetik, talks about the experience of the network of foundations created by George Soros in solving these problems, while depicting the large-scale and modest figure of the philanthropist himself.
