The already familiar cat Bastet carefree enjoys life in the Paris apartment of his "maid" Natalie - because that's how, according to the author, cats perceive their owners. One day everything suddenly changes after the mass shooting in the house opposite. Clashes between people are becoming more frequent in the city, chaos is engulfing the entire planet, and only one of the eight billion people on Earth survives. Cities capture rats by displacing people, cats, dogs and other animals to mountains, remote areas and small islands. All species are threatened with extinction, a horde of rats led by Commander-in-Chief Tamerlane, who has access to human knowledge and technology, sweeps away everything in its path.
