The name of Joseph the Blind (real name Kobernytsky-Dychkovsky) is known both in Ukraine and far beyond. The leader of the Greek Catholic Church, the Supreme Archbishop of Lviv and the Metropolitan of Galicia, a cardinal, prominent church and scholar, was a man of tragic fate. Repressed by the Soviet authorities, for 18 years Joseph the Blind wandered in prisons and camps, but did not surrender, did not renounce the faith, and his words about the main scourge of Ukrainians - lack of unity - still sound very relevant today: "Internal misunderstandings and dissent the main reasons for our decline ... Therefore, the leading idea is to maintain unity at all costs ... ".
