The 4M research kit contains a unique model called a refrigerator. Start the machine and lower it on the vertical surface of the refrigerator. Watch as it moves upward, challenging gravity. The mechanism of operation is based on the spring and magnets in the machine.
The refrigerator rides on the winding mechanism and the magnet at the same time. Inside the mechanism there is a spiral spring, which is compressed when turning the handle. This accumulates energy in the spring. When you release the handle, the spring unwinds, releasing energy and causing the wheels to rotate. The wheels stick to the vertical surface because the magnet presses the machine tightly against the metal of the refrigerator.
On the back of the package there is a brief instruction with pictures. You will learn how to start a typewriter and how it works, you will find interesting facts about magnets and gravity.
The Science series will appeal to children from the age of 8, especially boys. They will get acquainted with the basics of mechanics, physics, technology. Playing with such a typewriter develops imagination, thinking, ingenuity.
