In modernist culture, the devotion to which was declared in the ideology of the League of Cultures, the illustrated book was one of the most important areas of synthesis of arts and artistic experiments. At the same time, the Jewish illustrated book inevitably absorbed the whole complex of aesthetic searches and ideological contradictions peculiar only to Jewish literature and art. All this is fully reflected in the book graphics of artists associated with the League of Cultures. Therefore, the illustrated books created by them during this period are not only an important stage in their creative biography, but also one of the most vivid and convincing evidence of the search for national culture and achievements of the Jewish artistic avant-garde of the first quarter of the twentieth century.
