The publication contains mutual correspondence of Ukrainian socio-political and cultural figures of the era of Ukrainian nation-building and the national liberation revolution of 1917–1921. Yevhen Chykalenko (1861–1929) and Andriy Nikovsky (1885–1942). The epistolary sources covering the period 1908–1921 widely reflect the Ukrainian public life of Odessa and Kyiv, the history of the daily newspaper Rada (1906–1914), edited by A. Nikovsky in 1912 and 1913–1914. He informed the publisher of the newspaper E. Chikalenko in detail about the editorial life: staff, thematic course, own tactics of the newspaper, the circumstances of its closure in the summer of 1914. its editor A. Nikovsky, recorded some events in the revolutionary process in Kiev and on the periphery. The book is intended for scientists, teachers, students, pupils, everyone who is interested in the Ukrainian past and its bright figures.
