This edition for the first time fully publishes the entire body of mutual correspondence found in the central archives of Ukraine and UVAN (USA) of famous Ukrainian socio-political and cultural figures E. Chikalenko (1861-1929) and V. Vynnychenko (1880-1951), which lasted more than a quarter of a century. Both authors were at the center of the Ukrainian movement of the early twentieth century, did much for the development of Ukrainian culture, including literature, to implement the idea of Ukrainian statehood, both learned the bitter bread of emigration. These letters reflect the main milestones of their activities against the background of socio-political life in Ukraine, the attitude to many famous figures, reflections on the future of Ukrainian statehood. The letters also present the facts of the personal lives of both authors, the creative laboratory of the writer V. Vynnychenko, the role of the patron E. Chykalenko in his destiny.
