Once during my vacation I was going to travel to all kinds of countries, but I came to Vilnius, Kaunas, and I was so fascinated by Lithuanian architecture, painting, music, language, books that I never went on. I stared, listened, read. And I wanted my compatriots to admire Lithuanian literature. He began to translate poetry, prose ... And when he read works for children, he was happy: how beautiful, sincere, witty, wise they are. If only Ukrainian children had read them, I thought. And he set to work: he collected many fairy tales, poems, parables, stories, translated them into Ukrainian and arranged such a textbook for our children.
And here - and folk tales and works of famous Lithuanian writers, who almost all wrote and for children, even the literary works of famous Lithuanian artists - Mikalojus Konstantinas Čiurlionis and Kazis Šimonis.
That is why I am now passing on the pearls of Lithuanian children's literature to our young readers. I convey to you what fascinated me.
