The new anthology of popular literature of the 1920s includes samples of prose by four authors. Everyone had a different life in the turbulent twenties, but each was able to become a writer, enter the literary world and write without having such favorable preconditions as, say, people from wealthy families Lesya Ukrainka or Olga Kobylyanska. The heroines of the proposed texts are also independent and emancipated. They struggle with traditional people's morals, reflect on relationships and their role in them, face important life choices - and do so without regard to established hierarchies.
