Now you no longer need to listen to weather forecasts, you can create your own! Assemble a home weather station with a 4M research kit. You will get acquainted with various natural phenomena: atmospheric pressure, wind speed and direction, precipitation, air temperature. You have to do a series of different studies, learn a lot about meteorology and even create your own small greenhouse. The kit is suitable for research from the age of 8.
In the kit you will find all the necessary details of the station and detailed instructions. All you need & ndash; this is a one and a half liter plastic bottle. Great way to reuse plastic!
Use an anemometer to measure wind power. The bowls of the anemometer capture air currents and begin to rotate, showing wind speed. The weather vane and compass indicate its direction. The rain sensor of the weather station measures the amount of precipitation: the drops fall into the funnel and collect in the measuring tube. The thermometer shows the air temperature: a special liquid inside the flask expands when the air around it heats up, and the column rises up the pipe. When the temperature around the thermometer drops, the liquid cools and sinks down the thermometer column.
The 4M research kit has special tables for recording weather data. You will be able to record data from your weather station and compare it with the official figures of large weather stations. Their data is collected and analyzed every hour, which allows you to predict changes in weather, rainfall and temperature in the week ahead.
An interesting feature of the set from the series Green Science & ndash; this is an instruction to create your own greenhouse inside the bottle of the weather station. The greenhouse will allow you to see with your own eyes how water circulates in the atmosphere, how plants convert carbon dioxide into oxygen.
A set of 4M will introduce children to meteorology, help develop thinking, logic, ingenuity. The set is suitable for STEAM training. In this educational approach, children gain knowledge in various fields: design, mathematics, mechanics, physics, art. And also learn to combine different disciplines, creating an overall picture of the problem.
The set won 4 awards at specialized exhibitions in Italy, Germany, Hong Kong from 2012 to 2016.
