Interesting line & ndash; This application guide, consisting of multicolored bars, allows you to playfully teach your child to count, add and subtract operations within 100. The set also promotes fine motor skills, concentration, color recognition, spatial thinking.
Set Interesting line consists from:

  • 10 sections of the ruler of equal length, 10 divisions each;
  • 50 sticks (10 pieces of five colors & ndash; white , yellow, blue, green and red) ten sizes from 1 to 10.

How to use the Interesting ruler?
Having added all sections, we will receive a ruler with numbering from 1 to 100, visually divided into tens by two contrasting colors. Each division of the ruler is equal to 1 centimeter, so this ruler is convenient to use to measure objects. The numbers at the top of the line & ndash; it is the result of a mathematical operation. The lower part of the line is divided into tens, to study the count of tens and study the composition of the number.
Use colored sticks to perform addition and subtraction operations. Sticks of different colors are used for clarity. For example, a red stick with ten divisions and a yellow stick with ten divisions, laid out on the line & ndash; form a line whose length corresponds to the mark 20 at the top of the line.
Also with colored sticks you can learn the concept of inequality in mathematics: the number is greater or less and by how much.
How to teach your child to count within 10
1. Take one ruler numbered 1-10 and two sets of sticks, for example, red and yellow.
2. Lay out on the ruler one stick with one red division and the same & ndash; yellow. At the top of the ruler you will see that the length of the resulting line is 2, and it consists of one red and one yellow stick of the same size. Thus 1 + 1 = 2.
3. Take the red stick with one division, and the yellow & ndash; with nine. Lay them out on a ruler. We get the result 10. It will be visually clear that 10 consists of 1 and 9.
4. Demonstrate examples of combinations by combining sticks of two colors of different lengths.
How to teach a child to count to 100
1. Lay out all the ruler sets in a row so that the numbering at the top of the ruler is from 1 to 100.
2. Use sticks of different lengths and colors to demonstrate the combination. For example, set 9 white sticks to 50 and add 9 blue sticks, 50 divisions long. You and the child will see that the resulting line ends at 100 at the top of the line. Thus 50 + 50 = 100.
3. Other examples by analogy.
Instead of sticks from the set, you can use Kuizener sticks. This is suitable for the Gigo Kuizener Counting Sticks Training Kit (1028-250).
Learning Mathematics with the Interesting Ruler Kit & ndash; easy and clear.
