Yuri Barabash's book "I will not turn my face away" contains the author's works for the last quarter of a century. More than half of its volume consists of research on various, primarily Ukrainian, aspects of Nikolai Gogol's legacy. The dramatic fate and work of Ukrainian emigrant writers of the XX century (Yevhen Malanyuk, Vasyl Barka, Arkady Lyubchenko, Viktor Petrov) is considered in the section "Overseas". Explorations and materials contained in the sections "Articles. Notes. Essays "and" Interviews ", devoted to current issues of history and modern development of Ukrainian literature. The peculiarity of the book is that the texts of different years are printed in authentic form, according to the original editions, but the publication of each of them is accompanied by Post scriptum - today's commentary of the author, which gives the book features of literary autobiography.
