The book about the sculptor Olga Rapay-Markish (1929–2012), one of the most famous figures in the field of Ukrainian ceramics, tells about her and her work. The daughter of the poet and playwright Peretz Markis, who was shot dead in the case of the Jewish Anti-Fascist Committee, and the philologist Zinaida Joffe, repressed as a "member of the family of a traitor to the Motherland," the stepdaughter of linguist and translator Borys Tkazhenko. She shared the tragic fate of many of her contemporaries. The world of her works strangely contradicts her biography, as if challenging her - and at the same time is inseparable from her destiny.
