The main characters & mdash; Ivan Moroz, his daughter Vera & mdash; have to make a difficult choice: go to the West or return to Soviet Ukraine. Ulas Samchuk's departure from the national space is not defined by Ulas Samchuk as an "escape from himself", but as a historical necessity of self-preservation of the individual to return and fulfill his national mission
