The book contains documentary stories of the famous journalist and writer Oleksandr Gavrosh about one of the last Ukrainian opryshkas, Mykola Shugai (1898–1921). The figure of the Transcarpathian robber is still a creative inspiration for our neighbors - the Czechs and Slovaks. Books are published about him abroad, plays are staged, and films are made. Little is still known about Mykola Shugai in Ukraine.
We have not yet published a documentary about him for a wide readership.
