Robert-Louis Stevenson. Treasure Island Treasure Island is the most famous adventure novel by Scottish writer Robert-Louis Stevenson about the search for treasures hidden on a distant island by pirates. The protagonist and narrator, a young Jim Hawkins, after a series of unexpected adventures goes with friends to the mysterious Treasure Island. The expedition is organized, it seems, perfectly: a wonderful ship, enough food and drinking water, many weapons and a dedicated team of sailors. No one suspects that part of the team is trying to seize jewelry and get rid of honest people - Squire Trelawney, Dr. Livesey, Captain Smollett and Jim himself, who will have to show great courage, ingenuity and humanity to avoid falling prey to insidious and greedy pirates. The novel is published in a new translation by Viktor Gubarev, the most famous Ukrainian researcher of the history of piracy.
