Father Jozef Tischner (1931–2000) was a well-known Polish philosopher, priest, and publicist. He was chaplain of the legendary Solidarity Trade Union, dean of the Faculty of Philosophy of the Pontifical Theological Academy and president of the Vienna Institute of Human Sciences. Father Tischner has written more than 600 articles and books. He has repeatedly accused the Polish clergy of nationalism, political bias and anti-Semitism. The book of interviews with Father Tischner, offered to the Ukrainian reader, addresses a number of issues of our troubled times - spiritual orientation, rootedness in tradition, proper upbringing of children and youth, relationships with others, and how faith helps to live in the modern world.
