In the spring of 2014, Lviv student Yuriy Yatsenko became a Ukrainian political prisoner in the Russian Federation on trumped-up charges and was a hostage to the Russian-Ukrainian war. He was intimidated, tortured, forced to testify against his relatives and against his own country, and tried to bribe and recruit him for cooperation. Yuri endured all the tortures with dignity, and in the end he was able to win the one-on-one fight with the terrible machine of the Russian torture chamber. However, this victory was preceded by a year of imprisonment. A year in prisons, a year of confrontation with the FSB, a year of physical and moral torture. Based on this story, the documentary "Strong in Spirit" was made. The events of that year formed the basis of the book.
