Archimandrite Kirill Govorun is a world-renowned Orthodox theologian, author and editor of twelve books, about three hundred and fifty book chapters and articles in twenty languages, Doctor of Philosophy and Professor at universities in the United States, Sweden and Ukraine. In the book "Political Orthodoxy" Fr. Cyril analyzes the political distortions of Christian norms of belief, behavior and community caused by the excessive rapprochement of church and state, as well as the flirtation of the church with secular ideologies. In our time, such distortions can be regarded as "modern heresies", among which, according to the author, fundamentalism, anti-Semitism and nationalism occupy a prominent place. The author also suggests ways to return the church from "politicized unorthodox orthodoxy" to the evangelical ethos. For theologians, theologians, church historians, scholars, humanities students, all who are interested in ecclesiology and who care about the Church of Christ.
