Even our great-grandparents and great-grandparents communicated with babies with the help of short poems called nursery rhymes. All the customs that have survived the centuries are incredibly useful, even if it is not immediately obvious. It is unwise to leave unused treasures preserved for us by many generations of our grandmothers. To entertain a child, to play with him means to interact on an equal footing, as friends do. This form of communication is significantly different from other interactions related to providing the baby with healthy food, safe living space, warmth, clothing and other rest of his daily needs.
