Of the survivors and survivors of the horrific tragedy in the small Volyn village of Remli, one of the UPA's strongholds, only five remain. On March 17, 1943, the village was surrounded by a triple ring of SS men. Of the more than 500 villagers, 73 survived. The whole world knows about the village of Khatyn and its tragedy. Few people know about Remel's tragedy. Soviet historiography has long concealed this fact. The book is an initiative of the People's Artist of Ukraine Sviatoslav Maksymchuk, one of those who survived the tragedy and collected memories of it. The book also contains a story about his creative and life path.
