Ulas Samchuk's book of journalism, which opens the series "Rarity", covers editorials, reports, notes, which he published in the newspapers "Nova Svoboda" (Khust), "Ukrainian Word" (Paris), "Offensive" (Prague) of the period Carpathian Ukraine in 1938–1939. It is a separate journalistic-artistic and source-historical complex, which is an important part of the writer's creative work and has undoubted documentary and artistic value for in-depth and unbiased study of events related to the proclamation of autonomy and independence of Carpathian Ukraine. The publication contains an introductory article, which offers a sketch of a historical portrait of Ulas Samchuk as a chronicler of the national liberation struggle of Ukrainians in Transcarpathia.
