Get acquainted with the science of robotics and assemble a robotic head that rolls its eyes and moves its lower jaw! With the 4M science kit, you'll learn about physics and mechanics, and make a splash with your work.
The KidzRobotix researcher kit is suitable for 8-year-olds. Assembling robots gives design skills, develops imagination, thinking, ingenuity, intelligence, curiosity, fine motor skills. The set has all the necessary details. You'll also need a small Phillips screwdriver and two AAA batteries.
Follow the instructions with the diagrams. You will get a head job with big eyes and a jaw. You will learn about electricity, gearbox, cam wheel. The engine rotates the gears inside the housing. The motor axis rotates very quickly, but the gears reduce the speed of rotation, so that the two shafts (one for the eyes and one for the jaw) rotate slower. The cam wheel acts on the jaw cover and moves the jaw up and down. You see the jaw open and close. The side cam wheels move the slider back and forth. The slider pushes the protrusions on each eye, and they begin to spin.
Humanoid robots are called androids. Some have two video cameras in place of their eyes. This gives them stereoscopic vision, like humans. Each "eye" sees objects from two different angles, and the computer combines these images into a single picture. Stereoscopic vision helps determine the distance to an object. Many small motors are responsible for humanoids, which are responsible for the jaws, eyes, eyebrows and cheeks. Together, these mechanisms give the impression that the robot is smiling, laughing, or sulking. These and other interesting facts about robots are in the instructions for the scientific kit from 4M.
