The author of this book, Candidate of Art History and journalist Oleksandra Shutko, is the first to study Roxolana's biography on the basis of not only Ukrainian, but also Turkish, Polish, Russian, Western European and even American studies. This approach allowed us to discover new facts from the life of this majestic, unattainable and at the same time such a native woman, still unknown to the general Ukrainian community. The author's study of the language, traditions of the Turks, and certain historical and geopolitical processes that took place in Europe and Asia at that time contributed to a better understanding of how she came to the Ottoman harem and became a sultan. Despite the large number of references to scientific sources and citations of archival documents and letters, the book is written in an accessible language, so it should be of interest to a wide range of readers. Conversation with the author: “Roxolana's health was checked with lice. And mental adequacy was determined during sleep - snoring or not "The book was translated and published in Turkey: From Roxolana-Alexandra Anastasia Lisowska to Nadezhda-Hatice Turhan Unknown Roxolana: 5 years at the head of the Ottoman Empire
