Roman Ivanychuk (1929-2016) - a famous Ukrainian writer, winner of many literary prizes, including the National Prize of Ukraine. T. Shevchenko. In his creative work are about twenty historical novels, which the writer fills the white spots in our history. It is not limited to depicting certain events of the past, but outlines many problems that concern our contemporaries. The novel "Scars on the Rock", which was included in the 11th volume of the complete collection of works by R. Ivanychuk, was published in 1986. It was the first time that one of the writer's traveling stories appeared - about the singer Mythus and Prince Danylo Halytsky. In the image of Yosyp Shpytko many characteristic features of one of the young musicians - Yosyp Shpatko are reproduced. At that time, Roman Ivanychuk did not consider it possible to name his real name, so he created a collective image of the writer, who constantly argued with the Great Stonemason - Ivan Franko.
