Jean Monnet (1888-1979) was a prominent French public figure, one of the founders of modern geopolitics and its cult formation, the European Union, for which he was called the "Father of Europe". In the 1920s he was Deputy Secretary-General of the League of Nations, in 1939 he headed the Franco-British Economic Coordinating Committee, and in 1940 he proposed to Churchill to form a joint confederation of France and Great Britain. After the war, Monnet developed the economy of his native country. In "Memoirs" Jean Monnet talks about his childhood in the city of Cognac on the Atlantic coast, about his future life, about all the political intricacies that eventually led to the formation of a new Europe. It is published in Ukrainian for the first time.
