Third year of the First World War, Kyiv. One of the first passenger planes of the empire - "Grand" designed by Igor Sikorsky - lands at Kureniv airfield. Six people boarded the plane in Petrograd - aircraft designer Prince Alexander Kurdashov and his young wife and four crew members, but only four of them landed in Kyiv. Sikorsky, a former student of the slain Prince Kurdashov, has turned to the legendary former head of the Kyiv City Police, Georgy Rudy, for trying to accuse a crew member he does not believe was involved in the crime.
