Vladimir Malik (real name Sychenko, 1921-1998) - Ukrainian writer, known as the author of historical and adventure novels (tetralogy "Secret Ambassador", "Prince Cue", "Red Shields", etc.). His works are put on a par with the novels of Alexandre Dumas and Henrik Senkevich. In 1983, for his achievements in the field of literature, V. Malik was awarded the prize. Lesya Ukrainka.
The tetralogy "The Secret Ambassador" tells about the struggle of the Ukrainian people against the Turkish-Tatar invaders in the second half of the seventeenth century, about the tragic events in Ukraine after the Chigirin campaigns and the defense of Vienna (summer 1683). Fascinated by the incredible adventures of the protagonist of the novel, the Cossack-sorvigolov Arsen Zvenigora and his brothers, whose dedication in the struggle for "others", for honor, justice and humanity makes them real knights "without fear or reproach."
