The manuscript of the novel was awarded the First Prize of the International Literary Competition "Coronation of the Word". It lives at the bottom of the Pacific Gulf in the enchanted Desna. It is a product of Desna legends, myths or someone's painful imagination. No one has seen the underwater monster, but residents of nearby villages are afraid of it. Because it comes out of the water and kills fishermen. But the monster leaves traces. So it is not mythical, it has flesh and blood. Former opera singer Vitaliy Melnyk, a detective with a bad reputation, unconventional thinking and an iron grip, follows. Where do these traces lead? The answers are in the finale of one of the best Ukrainian Gothic detectives: "Dark Water".
