The theological-political treatise of the eminent Dutch pantheist philosopher Benedict Spinoza (1632-1677) was one of his first steps towards creating a holistic picture of the world and understanding the "root cause and origin of things", which was thought of as a pantheistic revelation of the genesis of all objects and natural phenomena in terms of the identity of God and nature as a single, eternal and infinite substance. Beginning with an analytical consideration of the texts of the Old and New Testaments and a critique of scholastic views in the context of known historical and social laws, the philosopher came to a rationalist understanding of the attributes of world formation.
