The proposed edition is the result of twenty years of work of the author. All information material is presented in the form of historical and local lore chronicles. The first part of the monograph has twelve time chapters and covers the period from 1540 to 1944, the second part has five chapters that reveal the 50-year history of the postwar city (1944-94). Analysis of events and comments on them are kept to a minimum, but they reflect the author's civic position. The monograph was tested on the pages of the city newspaper "Ternopil Evening". For a wide range of Ternopil residents and guests of the city, pupils, students, local historians and scholars, as well as anyone interested in the history of the native land.
