K. Simak's "Transit Station" is one of those bright books that are comfortable even in the middle of a stupid night. And not only because each of us would like to be at least for a while in the place of the main character - Enoch Wallis, the terrestrial representative of the Central Galactic and at the same time the caretaker of the transit station on Earth. This comfort is also created by the general thinking atmosphere of the novel, and its characters - both terrestrial and foreign. It may not be the top work of world science fiction, but it is certainly a good work. And good, as is the case in our world, is never too much.
