Leon Feuchtwanger (1884–1958) was a prominent German novelist and playwright of Jewish descent. In particular, he was engaged in journalism and theater, from childhood he was very interested in antiquity, as well as - the history of the Jewish people, which determined the theme of some of his works. After the Nazis came to power, Feuchtwanger was deprived of his citizenship, and he himself escaped persecution and lived in exile. He died in 1958.
