Wlodzimierz Sula's book, based on the testimonies of many historians, publicists, memoirists, and people whose lives intersected with those of Józef Pilsudski, is a biography of a well-known political and spiritual leader of twentieth-century Poland.
Józef Pilsudski always set great, sometimes unattainable goals for himself and his entourage: when he led the Polish Socialists, he sought to turn the revolution into a national liberation uprising; and earlier, when from the columns Rabotnika influenced the worldview of readers; and later, when he commanded his detachment of riflemen, in defiance of politicians and staff overseers, he formed the backbone of the Polish National Army.
