In 2006, after the publication of Oleksandr Vilchynskyi's novel Viagra for the Mayor, the Ternopil City Council began to exaggerate without exaggeration. Resonance in the press, including threats to the author, only heightened the excitement when each of the deputies and employees of the City Hall in the heroes and characters of the work tried to recognize if not himself, then at least one of his colleagues. And what about the mayors of both then and previous? However, according to the writer himself, the plot line and the conflicts described in the novel are modeled on various events and not only from his own experience. According to readers, similar situations described in the novel took place in other cities and other city councils, especially during election campaigns. The topic has not lost its relevance to this day. At least in Ternopil, after the Viagra for Mayor, elderly mayors are no longer elected. Based on the novel, Alexander Vilchinsky also wrote a comedy with elements of farce in two acts "For all the money" (2016).
