The novel is based on the real life story of our compatriot - Mariana Kalabay from Lviv, who learned about her third pregnancy at the same time with a terrible diagnosis - "acute myeloid leukemia". But Mariana was not afraid of the trials that fate had prepared for her, and was able to see a new life where the whole council of doctors unanimously saw only death. This is a story about life, about friendship, about faith, about love and a little more about a real miracle. After all, miracles happen to those who truly believe in them!

This story made each of us think ...

It would seem that years of work in such a complex project as "Concerns everyone" should have taught me not to be surprised by the difference in human destinies, but still it is not. The stories that the audience empathizes with still touch my heart. They are full of tragedy, but they are never meaningless.

This was the case with Mariana Calabay. I well remember that broadcast, as well as my thoughts before and during the program. It is not always easy to talk about death, and Mariana's husband and children were invited to the studio. Usually, the recording takes place in a live dialogue with the characters and guest experts, and we never know what exactly this dialogue will lead to. Emotions run high, and I have to shout and reassure both the characters and the guests. But not in this case. I have never heard such a resounding silence on the court. It was difficult for everyone to choose the words. Mykhailo, Mariana's husband, spoke mostly. His voice trembled and tears rolled down his cheeks, but he continued to tell millions of people across the screen how much he loved his wife and how much he continued to love her. And there was no need for advice, sympathy, or attempts to understand the mistakes. They fought to the end, continuing to believe, which means: they did everything right! And this story, no matter how poignant, is not about hopelessness and death - it is about life, about true friendship and even about love, which is able to withstand any seemingly insurmountable

During the program, Mykhailo said that Mariana really wanted to write a book about what she had to go through, but, unfortunately, she did not have time to do so. We understood that we had to help make Maryana's wish come true in her memory. And I suggested to Irina Tetera, one of our experts, to take up the matter. Probably, I am one of the few who managed to read the novel in the manuscript, and now I can responsibly say: Irina managed to choose the right words - I'm sure none of the readers will remain indifferent. This book hides a difficult story of a very happy life, a story about love and faith, about life after death, about something fleeting and eternal, about what really applies to everyone ...

Andriy Danylevych,

journalist, host of the TV program "Concerns everyone"

The story of a strong and bright woman Mariana Calabay stunned me to the core! Give life to a child and die alone! Would many dare to take such a step? But isn't this the higher purpose of the female essence? Self-sacrifice for the sake of those you love! Such was Mariana's mission on earth. And everyone should learn this! Svitlana Volnova, TV presenter Blood cancer is a serious disease with disappointing prognoses, so no one knows how Mariana's life would have turned out. she refused to give birth to a child. And such a long remission is a real miracle that God gave to this family after Mariana made perhaps the most important choice in her life. And more & hellip; based on practice, I would like to wish each patient such irreplaceable support from friends and relatives.
Irina Taranenko, oncologist The position of a real woman cannot be different. And Mariana is not just real - she is a great woman! And even an incurable disease did not prevent her from giving new life. For me, this is heroism!

Volodymyr Naumenko,

psychologist

The drama of life is much harsher than that played in cinema and theater. And when I think about this story, the same phrase keeps popping into my head: "Take care of life or take care of death." And I can only bow low to Mariana, who even on the verge of death still lived and loved her life!

Alexander Danilchenko,

actor
