Joseph Conrad (1857–1924, real name - Theodore Joseph Conrad Korzhenozsky) was born in Berdychiv, former Podolsk province. A Pole by birth, he was recognized as a classic of English literature. Author of fascinating novels about sea adventures.

The novel "Liberation" is the largest and best of Conrad's novels, on which he worked for almost twenty years. In it, he tells of the hard life of the Indonesian people, who are waging a fierce struggle against the colonizers. Captain Lingard, one of the few who visited these places, had long planned a very important matter. And who would have thought that he would be hindered by a defenseless yacht that ran aground in these little-known places, and its owner stubbornly refuses to help Lingard. On this yacht, the captain meets a charming young woman & hellip; Mysterious and dangerous adventures, love and loss await him. Earlier in the Folio publishing house, in the series "Foreign Author's Collections", a collection of Conrad's works "Olmeir's Whim" and the novel "The End of Captivity" were published.
