Even our great-great-grandparents communicated with babies with the help of short poems, which were called toys. All the customs that have survived the centuries are extremely useful, even if they are not immediately obvious. It is unwise to leave the treasures preserved for us by many generations of our grandmothers.

To entertain a child, to play with him - means to interact on equal terms, as friends do. This form of communication is significantly different from other interactions related to providing the baby with healthy food, safe living space, warmth, clothing and satisfaction of the rest of his daily needs.
