The main character of the series "From the Memoirs of Ion Tychy" by the Polish science fiction writer S. Lem is the captain of an interstellar ship, a spaceship wolf, and at the same time a well-known scientist and well-known researcher. Jonah Tycho is surprisingly interesting and adventurous in life. He is well acquainted with a number of ingenious inventors, including Corcoran, who modeled the whole world on a computer, Decantor, who succeeded in liberating human consciousness by dooming it to painful immortality, and Zazul, the first inventor of the time machine. Tychy is visiting a psychiatric clinic for robots. He witnesses the revolt of the artificial mind, which is trying to free itself from human influence. After all, there are plenty of adventures on space, and the hero of this cycle seems to be attracted to them like a magnet.
