The monograph is devoted to new trends in the study of church rites, which bring the liturgy into an independent branch of theology - sacramental theology. The development of Baptist sacramentology is shown, and the paradigms of water baptism in the broad discourse of the main Christian traditions are analyzed. A detailed study of the biblical and theological understanding of this phenomenon has been conducted. The main models of understanding baptism in Baptist theology are presented. The possibility of using and developing a holistic methodology of theological research is indicated.

The publication is addressed to a wide range of readers - theologians, religious scholars, culturologists, historians, university professors, graduate students and anyone interested in the issue of baptism and Baptist sacramentalism.
