Mykola Bazhan's literary activity (1904-1983) spans more than six decades. He entered the history of Ukrainian culture as an outstanding poet, translator, public figure and scientist, organizer and publisher of many universal publications, including, for example, the Ukrainian Encyclopedia, which has long been named after him. We can say that he was flattered by the authorities, as evidenced by the awards and positions he held. But above all, Bazhan was known in the world as a ton of lyricist and master of poetic translation. He translated Georgian poets (Rustaveli, Guramishvili), Uzbek (A. Navoi), Bengali (R. Tagore), Russian (Pushkin, Mayakovsky), as well as poets from Belarus (J. Kupala, M. Tank), Poland (Mickiewicz, Slovak, Norvid, Ivashkevich), in recent years he was attracted to classical German poetry - Goethe, Gelderlin, R.-M. Rilke. Rustaveli is considered to be the most perfect in Slavic literature in Georgia.
